Artist Statement

For as far back as I can remember, I have always wanted to be an artist.  I was brought up in a very creative family that believed and nurtured the idea that you need to do what truly makes you happy.  I have continued to produce mosaics in many forms for the last twenty-five plus years, developing new techniques and methods along the way.  All of these experiences have collectively brought me to a self-realization that mosaic art is my found medium.

Epic System’s Collection

As a Wisconsin artist, I am honored to have my artwork displayed in Epic System's collection. Located in Verona, Wisconsin, Epic System's is a strong supporter of local artists like me. I am grateful to have over 30+ pieces of my work showcased in their vast collection. It's inspiring to see local businesses supporting the arts and fostering a thriving creative community.

Artists In Residence Programs

Students from the 2009 West Bend School District mosaic mural.

  • In 2012, I worked with the Watertown Elementary School Students and art teacher Sara Sixel to complete a tree mural. The final mural was hung on the wall in a staircase for the children to see. The majority of the mosaic is made from tile, glass, and mirror. The sun rays in the mosaic are actually made from No. 2 writing pencils.es here

  • In 2010, I had the honor to participate in a Leigh Yawkey Artist in Residence program. I worked with over 300 kids from the age of kindergartners to high school students, teaching them how to create a mosaic mural. The final candy land masterpiece was 4’ by 20’. Following the kids workshop, there was an adult workshop available creating a 6”x6” individual mosaic. I personally wanted to say thank you to the Leigh Yawkey Art Museum Woodson Art Museum! • Participating Elementary Schools: Barton, McLane, Decorah, Fair Park, and Green Tree

  • In April 2006, I taught at Theresa Learning Community in the Lomira School District. While the students watched me complete “Kandinsky Circles” I also taught them the process of mosaics. After I finished they were able to complete their own small square mosaic to take home.
